PocketGuitar – A Fun Loving iPhone App

PocketGuitar turns your iPhone into a virtual guitar, allowing you to strum and press strings as you would on a real guitar. Whether or not you’re a guitar player, it’s a blast strumming the virtual strings and trying to coax a chord out of your iPhone. This Music App is fun and very entertaining, And oneof the top apps of the Apps Downloaded chart. Use your fingers to pluck or touch the cords if you place your fingers on the frets your note will change. If you move your iPhone in a upward and downward motion similar to a woo woo bar on a Electric Guitar.

In a very impressive way the developer Shinya Kasatani mimicked the guitar fretboard and provided various types of guitar sounds (electric, classical, and so on). This App allows you to change between 6 different instruments including: Acoustic-Electric Guitar, Electric Guitar, Classical Guitar, Muted Guitar, Electric Bass & Ukulele which can be changed in the settings. There are a few other options in the settings, such as effects, Accelerometer Effects, Alternative Tuning, Pluck Auto, Adjust Positions & turn Left-Handed Play on and Off.

Just like with a real guitar, any non-guitar player will have a hard time making the thing sound halfway decent. That said, PocketGuitar is a lot of fun to play around with and gets an immediate “wow” reaction out of anyone seeing it for the first time. PocketGuitar is compatible with any iPhone or iPod touch running the iPhone 2.x software update.
