Digg To Launch iPhone App

The latest buzz on the Internet is about a new iPhone App to be launched by Digg. Kevin Rose, the co-founder of the popular social-bookmarking and Web aggregation site Digg, was spotted playing with the app in London.

Digg iPhone app was announced in Apple’s app news in 2007. This mobile version of the site includes iPhone scrolling, mini-permalink pages with the top five comments, and digging ability. Rose claimed then that the mobile site was coded in 48 hours, so who knows what kind of features they could have come up with in two years?

This Digg app would supposedly make social bookmarking a lot simpler for smartphone users. This new app will represent the company’s first major mobile offering after the restoring of the Digg mobile site in July last year. It is speculated that apps for other mobile devices will be made available in the months to come.

Well, reality or rumor. But we are surely looking forward to the release of this new iPhone app from Digg.
